Many Thanks

 Ok this was a gorgeous fall day in Houston.  Tate and I had a wonderful day (less a long crying jag for no apparent reason after naptime and a kicking fiasco during a diaper change).


But tonight I'm thankful that American Girl has BOY dolls!!!  I love American Girl!!  I am such a girly girl.  That store is my mecca, my home away from home, my oasis :)  Ok maybe not to that extreme, but I always wanted a little girl I could play dolls with, and I know we would have made many a venture to the American Girl Store and probably would have rooted for a branch to come to Houston.


However, I've been wanting to get Tate a doll.  Yes, he's a boy, but I think doll play is extremely important for all children.  If Tate was growing up with a sister in the house noone would think twice when he played with her dolls or any of her toys.  And I fathom a guess that when little girls plays with trucks and cars that most people don't blink an eye.  Why do we have to put such societal pressure on children...especially young children, but really children of any age?   Doll play teaches children how to care for others, it teaches them social skills.  I'm going to enjoy watching Tate with his dolls I believe.  I think it'll be a good mirror into how he perceives I take care of him.  Now won't that be interesting?!


So a doll will be under the tree this year from me or Santa.  I'm not quite sure which of us will bring the doll baby, but one thing I do know it'll be Bitty Twins Baby Dolls from American Girl!!  With the requisite outfits and accoutrements!  


I cannot wait!!!!!

And yes Tate will have the dark/medium skin dolls!!  Now to decide boy/girl twin dolls or boy/boy twin dolls.  Give me your thoughts!
