And it's been just great. We've spent the nights together in my bed, waking at the crack of dawn for me to blearily hand him my phone after clicking the YouTube link so he can watch trains of all sorts barrel down the tracks (how this enthralls him is beyond me, but he loves, loves, loves them, and I don't have to worry he's watching something inappropriate while I continue to doze as they are simply trains speeding along tracks). I've gotten another hour or so of sleep thanks to these trains.
We've played trains, watched 'The Polar Express' and 'Mickey Mouse Choo-Choo Express', enjoyed meals, ridden the zoo train, grocery shopped, ridden bikes outside briefly and just hung out. I've tried to convince him to play one of his new games...nope, nyet, nada. All about those trains this little guy. We've read books and cuddled in the rocking chair. At night when I climbed into bed I gathered him out of the crib and put him in the bed with me.
It's been just amazing. He's had very few meltdowns, maybe one or two. A few pouts, but we've just enjoyed being together. Honestly, as I sit here I can't even remember what we've really done for the past 72 hours after looking at that short list of activities.
But we've been together. We've laughed and giggled.
Just the two of us.
I cannot think of no other way I'd like to end 2012 than spending these four days with my son.

My wish for the two of us in 2013 is a strengthening of our wonderful relationship, more joy, hope, fun, laughs, giggles and love, love, love.
And for those we love and love us we wish you the same. Happiness, joy, peace and most of all love.
