Polar Express 2014

This is how we do it on The Polar Express!!

Saturday morning we had a lazy morning getting ready for our trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express!!  I got everything packed, and we headed off to the library to get some new Christmas books for Tate, and some chick-lit for me!
Then we made a stop at our favorite place for lunch, The French Fry Place!!
We were then on our way to catch the Polar Express!!  Tate, as always, did great on the 2 1/2 hour drive...he actually colored in his new Planes Fire and Rescue coloring book the entire time!!  The entire time!! Nary a peep except to ask me to stop for a potty break one time.  Otherwise he happily colored.  Oh!  After he read his new book from the library out loud...perfectly!!  So proud of my little reader!!!

We arrived at our hotel, got checked in and relaxed a bit while we waited for Palmi and Alonzo to arrive!!  The boys were thrilled to see each other!  We got changed and ready for our ride!

We arrived at the station in time to let the boys run off some steam because goodness they were excited.  Tate couldn't help dancing around and jumping up and down!!

Look at that excitement!!!
Then it was time to board!!!

The boys had their golden tickets, and the conductor came by to stamp their tickets!
So excited to see the conductor coming down the aisle!

Hot Hot Hot Hot Chocolate!

Liam Neeson 'reads' The Polar Express over the intercom while the chefs walk around with the book.

The mommies had a great time too!
Look!  It's the North Pole!!

Seeing Santa Claus at the North Pole!

As we pull out of the North Pole's station,, Santa and his elves join us on the Polar Express!

We sang Christmas carols, finished our hot cocoa and treats on the ride back to the train station.

Once back at the hotel it was time for our Advent book for the 14th day of Advent!
Then my little elf was sound asleep within 4 minutes of laying down.
The bell still rings for all who believe.

We believe...

I love that you do this every year! Elena liked this movie last year but this year she's so afraid! I hope she gets over it because it is my favourite!
