Disney Wonder Cruise - Day Three - Day at Sea

Monday!  October 7!  Somewhere in the Western Caribbean!

Tate was up at 5:38 after falling asleep at 8:15.  Sigh.  I had not had a good night at all...I was up and down all night with diarrhea :(.  Dizzy and crampy.  Blech.  I begged, pleaded, threatened, cajoled trying to get him to go back to sleep.  I gave up at 6:20, though I did doze off and on until then.  I set him up with some cheerios, yogurt and applesauce and he happily ate his breakfast while watching his new Chuggington DVD and then played with his trains.  But my patience was sorely lacking.  I was trying to vow to be a better vacation mom :)

Lo and behold, I had gotten my period.  Five full days early.  At least that explained the moodiness, the cramping and the diarrhea.  So I got myself squared away, but wasn't the least bit happy that now my pool/swimming time would be severely compromised.  Oh well...

BUT, the beauty of a kid who wakes up at 5:30 is that you will be first in line for the Princess meeting at 8:30am because not many kids parents are up at that time of day.

Tate was giddy with excitement as we lined up at 8am for PRINCESS BELLE due to arrive at 8:30!
Signing his autograph book!
She spend several minutes talking with him and asking
him questions.  He was in awe.

To my surprise he insisted upon standing in line again to meet Cinderella, and she was so very sweet with him as well.  She talked and talked with him and it was just magical.  Who doesn't find Cinderella magical?  Isn't she the epitome of all things Disney?  Even my breath was taken away when she walked into the room.

By now I was starving and wanted to go get some breakfast.  Tate was insisting that he wanted to stay and meet Ariel.  Ariel!  How on earth does he know about Ariel?  Heck, I don't know how he knows about Cinderella and I honestly have no recollection how he even learned about Belle.  But no matter he was going on and on about seeing Ariel.  I finally told him if he would come with me he could have hot cocoa and pancakes!

We were off! :)  He gobbled down those egg-free, gluten-free (read taste free) pancakes :).  As we headed back to our room we ran into N and H in line to see Ariel.  (These lines were LONG).  We happily cut in line  joined them and Tate got to see Ariel!

We piddled around a bit, then we took H and Tate to  meet G at the Oceaneer Club for some fun!  I then got to have some kid-free downtime.  It was fantastic!!  I sat out on my lovely veranda and just listened to the gentle waves of the ocean while writing in my journal.

I watched a bit more of 'Gatsby' then I laid down for a 30 minute nap.  Glo-Ri-Ous.  Woke up, ordered some room service and watched more of 'Gatsby'.  Of course the Kids' Club called me just before my food was due to arrive because Tate wanted to come back to the room.  Sigh.  I ran down there and picked him and H up.  (He was upset because he couldn't find her...Obviously he didn't look hard enough)  We dropped H off next door then I inhaled my salad while he watched some Chuggington.  Then it was pool time for H and Tate.

Dinner with my guy!
They played and played for about an hour and a half.  It was lovely to sit back and just watch them play.  Granted it was hot, but to just be able to just 'be' was great.    We then went back to the room, got him bathed and ready for dinner.  We ate at Triton's this evening and I made sure to get us out of there before 7.  I stressed to Duran that though we were the only ones there we needed to order (everyone else came 15-20 minutes late) and that I needed our food to come on and come :).  Poor Duran...he's from Jamaica and I know us stressed, overly worried, obsessive parents drive him batty, but he did his best and though I missed dessert Tate was sound asleep at 7:33.  I ended up ordering room service for a cookie and cashews for dessert (not yummy at all), but I popped open one of my bottles of wine and sat back and relaxed and finished reading a Sophie Kinsella book on my Kindle.  I was wrapped up in it and didn't get to sleep until 10, but it was worth it.

Minnie Mouse shaped ketchup!

Our towel character was another huge hit!
Cute puppy dog!!

Playing the maracas!
Happy boy. Happy Mommy.

Making the evening perfect, look who we ran into on the way to dinner...
