Christmas Eve we were invited to our friends' Stephanie and Dave's for brunch! We had a really nice time; it was 80 degrees, so Dave heated the pool and the kids swam and swam while we adults hung out and drank mimosas!! We were an eclectic group, and I didn't really know anyone, but it was so nice to just be. Tate had fun in the pool even though a couple of the older girls told him he couldn't play with them in the pool...necessitating another mom to step in and intervene on his behalf. :) He was one of the few boys amongst about 10 girls.
We went home for some lunch and I cooked up a storm until it was time to go to church! We went to one of the children's services at the church and Tate was an angel. It was a lovely service, but I long for the days when I could go to our evening service and really feel prayerful....those days will come again I know...sooner than I'd like as my little boy is growing up so very fast.
After the service we headed outside to the manger scene complete with donkeys :)
Lindsey joined us at the house, and we had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. The lights and the tree were lit up, and Tate opened his first gift of Christmas!
Tate laid out the cookies and milk for Santa then bade adieu to Leo as Santa would pick him up on his way through to drop off Tate's Christmas present and then we opened our last book of Advent.

Santa Claus came!!!
Lindsey and I, ok Lindsey mostly, set up our new tv before Tate went to bed...I had a 24 inch that everyone ballyhooed would not be fabulous for Tate's new WiiU and Disney Infinity. Tate and I, on the other hand, had no issue with our supposedly tiny tv, well except for the fact that it wouldn't be compatible with the WiiU. The only thing Tate had asked for was the Disney Infinity Cars Playset, and the last couple of weeks he started asking for the Inside Out Disney Infinity Playset. He of course did not know this required a gaming system of some sort and the Disney Infinity Software. Sigh. Santa came through...he brought Tate a WiiU, Disney Infinity 3.0, the Inside Out Playset and the Cars Playset (and a few other toys). Sadly, Santa misread the compatibility requirements on Disney's website, and we have to wait for him to send us the necessary Toy Box to play the Cars characters, but Tate is extremely happy to play with the Inside Out Playset which works fabulously!!! Aunt Lindsey and her boyfriend Rickey were more than happy to help Tate learn how to play!
So on Christmas morning it was me, Tate and Lindsey. Tate was up raring to go at 5am and I insisted he sleep or at least try for a bit longer. We made it to just before 7! He was over the moon about his Santa gifts...Disney Infinity was a huge hit! Lindsey and I opted to just let him enjoy his Santa gifts until our parents arrived at which point we opened all the wrapped gifts! (and the new boyfriend arrived just before the parents :) )
You know I didn't take any pictures or videos while Tate and everyone unwrapped. I just enjoyed it...loved watching him, loved seeing everyone open their gifts and ooh and aah. It was just lovely. I'll remember those feelings long after the pictures fade in a book.
