Tate's 7th Birthday

Seven years!

Seven years ago this sweet boy has been in my life!

July 23, 2009 - the best day of my life

This year on July 23rd we celebrated our morning together like we always do with one difference...Christian was here to celebrate with Tate!  Tate was over the moon when Christian arrived on the 22nd.  So, it was an even more special birthday morning for Tate.
I had set him up with his favorite breakfast...Tiger cheerios (Frosted Flakes), yogurt and oatmeal.  Lots of balloons and presents for the 7th birthday!

Once presents were opened and breakfast was done, Tate started on his Legos while I put the finishing touches on the birthday preparations.

He had requested a Marvel party, so I pinterested some ideas and got to work.  I had made the cake the night before...it was quite yummy :).

Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy!
Captain America's Shield
Hawkeye's Arrows
Hulk Punch
We made our way to the park and got everything set up with the help of Grandmommy, Papa, Aunt Lindsey and Rickey!  Then the party guests started making their arrival.  The playground itself is awesome and very well shaded!  Tate didn't want the train this year :( but he wanted a face painter.  I had see a fantastic one at an event earlier in the year, so used her...she was still phenomenal.  I had worried that face paint outside in Houston in 100 degrees and as much humidity would be a hot mess...and it was, but the kids loved it.  As a surprise I had the Kona Ice Snocone truck come!  Super yummy and definitely needed in the heat!!

So here's Tate's 7th Birthday in pictures....

Tate and his beloved Papa!

My little Spiderman!

Beautiful face paint!

Everyone loves a snocone!  Tate got a special, extra-large cup full of ice and sugar :)

Everyone enjoyed the cooling off by the snocones!

 Including me...
He came back to the snocone truck to get more syrup!!!!
Ahhhh...more sugar!!!!
More fun in the park...

I had no idea he was going so high!!

Even the adults got face painting!!
I thought this Hulk face was AMAZING!
Me and my Mommy!
Then it was time for cake!

Happy Happy Birthday sweet Tate!!
After cake we loaded up and headed to the house for present opening and lunch!  Oh and the face painting didn't fare so well...

Present Time!!!

LOVES the gifts from Rickey and Aunt Lindsey!

Such a happy boy!  We had a fantastic day!  Lots of love from so many people!  We are so very blessed.  Me the most!  I am still, even 7 years later, so amazed I've been blessed with the joy of being Tate's mother.  Sometimes I look at him and just wonder 'How did I get so lucky?'  I can't believe this soul comes from me.  And when I fall short so often on mothering him I get so sad because he's such a gentle soul, such a sweet boy.

All I can say is I love him.
